Tugboat Annies: Reviews & Ratings
This is the third time I've been here. Full disclosure, first time wasn't great. There was a strange and dingy smell, and the decor that hangs from the walls and upper areas was really dirty. That turned us off. I was here a second time for an event I was invited to, and had a better time (though the decor still needed to be cleaned). Had a hankering for prime rib, and so we thought it was worth trying again. No smell. The food was good. The prime rib was cooked perfectly and seasonal well. The chowder was OK.... Here in Oly, Chelsea Farms is the place fo chowder, or Duke's in Tacoma. Service was lacking. The waitress was sweet, eventually, sort of coming into attention and care towards the end. Sadly, we waited a while to be seated (though they weren't that busy). We waited a long time to get a welcome from the waitress. We had to ask the host. My wife's beverage took a long time, had to ask for it a second time, which came with ice, though she asked for it without. Same thing happened with coffee, which came without cream, though she asked for it. The decor still really needs to be cleaned. Dust is hanging off everything. It's off putting.
I'm not big on Seafood, but the people I was with were. And they said that their seafood was great. Me meat and potatoes kinda gal, so I got the Prime Rib. It was EXCELLENT. Cleaned my plate. The service was also great, the waitress was right there when you needed her. It was just a good experience overall.
Friendly environment. The service was on point and the food was delicious. Plenty of parking. I tend to eat large meals. I had The Barge Burger. By far the biggest burger I have ever attempted to eat. I was unable to finish it. It's meant to feed a group....I'd say about 4 people easy. Even with that size, the quality was amazing.
We arrived about 7 pm on a Monday night. It wasn't a packed house, it was busy. The calamari and grilled salmon were delicious, fresh! Eric was the bartender and our server. He was attentive and helpful with suggestions. Bourbon smash and Cadillac margarita were well balanced and quite nice.
Friday night at 6pm. Place is bussing. Bar is full, people are loud. Fun place! Food is great, they have great halibut fish and chips! Because they are so full you can't expect to have great service. We were left alone the whole night. Saw our waiter to take our order- and for the check. He left the check and another person checked us out. Never saw the waiter again. Food was delivered by runners and this very attentive bus boy took all our dishes away. They deserve the gratuity. Not the waiter. I hope they do get a share. I'd probably return for the food if I am craving a $24 basket of fish and chips.
I came back with family after coming for a farewell lunch for work. I liked the location. We came on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. There was plenty of onsite parking. We were able to be seated soon after arriving. There was not a long for the food. The food was good and at a decent price. The portions were just right, not too much. They are not huge portions.
Came around 2:00 on a Saturday and the place was packed with so many happy faces and good looking food going by. Do not come here if you’re in a hurry. This is a place to enjoy the views, decor and your company.
Stop by this wonderful place to get some lunch. We were quickly seated outdoors and enjoyed the wonderful Vista. There are pictures on the walls of the orcas coming up through there. That would be an amazing sight! Are cold drinks were delivered to us quickly. Food order took a little bit longer but not too bad. The fish and chips were excellent as well as the crab cakes. Had the sauteed seafood dish. It could have used a little more seasoning I was more like a chowder. Still a good mix of seafood. The sweet potato tots were good. We had also ordered calamari but they forgot to bring it out. So I can't tell you anything about that. All in all pretty good experience. The prices are fair and the service was good.
